Close to temples excellent food at hotel

The staff was very friendly and wanted to be helpful and most of teh food was good.

The owners of the hotel are unbelievable - they would charge you for breathing the air if they could. They charge one $1.00us for using a beach towel at their on-site pool and one morning for breakfast I ordered bacon which was not part of the included breakfast and they charged me 1.00us per piece! We were in the "honeymoon suite" which was very small and very dated - the wicker bed frame was filthy and there were not any plugs in the bathroom - I had to go downstairs to the public restroom near the restaurant to dry my hair in the mornings. I would not recommend this hotel - the description on the internet is extremely misleading.

The staff was very friendly. It wasn't far from the ruins and the tuk-tuk service was quick and friendly as well. The RiverGarden offers a Stone Carving class at an affiliated workshop that was great. I'd recommend it to anyone with a bit of artistic talent and/or interest in the Cambodian stone carving techniques. The gardens are lovely.

The room was not accurately portrayed on Booked.net. In person it is clearly furnished and decorated as cheaply as possible. The bathroom had walls that didn't extend to the ceiling, so no privacy, and was simply a room with a toilet and a shower head on the wall. The gardens are lovely, but not all the rooms are set back in the trees as shown online. There was however a tree that was dropping big seed pods on the metal roof and would wake us throughout the night with a crash. And we saw the manager or owner(?) yelling at the employees. Not convinced the price was good for the area, but overall I would stay here again knowing what to expect.

The vast tropical garden, the quiet and calm. The staff was very friendly.

The booked room was not available when we arrived. We were offered a room one category higher and were asked to pay for the upgrade. After some arguing and insisting the booked room was suddenly available. After that it was a very nice stay.

    The Garden

The wedding next door, which started with loud music already at 6 am.

We loved the park-like atmosphere, clean inviting pool and deck with pool bar; very nice breakfast outdoors. It is peaceful and restful and a nice place to come back to after braving the crowds at the Angkor Wat and other Khmer ruins.

The River Garden is right near the river and the people who are living in the area are early risers. You hear the roosters and the morning sounds of folks getting a start on their day. I wouldn't say we didn't like it but it is something to note if you tend to sleep later.

The position of the hotel is out of the City and you experience more of the life of Cambodian people with roadside shops and local market nearby. Cycle ride through back lanes was great. Also hotel recommended Microlite flight to view temples - initially terrifying prospect but a great end to our stay.

The plumbing was a little hit and miss with very poor water pressure in shower - otherwise room was perfect.

country atmosphere and location (near Angkor)

soundproofing and cleanness of the room

The place had real character, the staff were beautiful and the atmosphere was familiar. The place was very clean and reasonably confortable

The location, while close enough to the centre, was in a very misserable, slummy area, though we never had any sense of danger nor were we pestered by beggars or sales people. After a 5 minute walking you got into well developed and much more affluent areas. Once you found your way around it was ok but the first impression was a little intimidating

The hotel is designed in a jungle way giving you real feel being in a jungle. It has a cool water swimming pool which is important when it is hot outside. You can spend the whole day in the hotel relaxing and enjoying. The staff is friendly and responsive.

Be alert when chosing rooms as not all of them have got airconditioning.

The homely set-up and the gardens.

Nothing. At the price, a great value.

A very pleasant hotel in a beautiful garden. The Cambodian staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is involved in helping the Cambodian people. A beautiful, but very poor country. Your bonus is their delicious Khmer cooking.

The distance to the old centre of Siem Reap, although this centre is very touristic.

The staff were wonderful. The young girl on reception gave me the best welcome I have ever had. Lovely food, great tuk tuk drivers. Beautiful decor and jungle feel.

two families and a couple next door arguing. It proved that travelling alone is far less stressful! The wall was very thin between my room and the couple next door.

This hotel is really special! It has a lot of nature in the garden which is extremly beautifull and harmonious, giving you the feelining of a paradise. The rooms where very beautifull and had a lot of Khmer class in it and gave you a feeling of peace and tranquility. The personal was extremly friendly and cheerfull and all spoke excelent english. The owner of the river garden personally saw to it that all the personal was trained to learn how to deal with western tourists. It was one of the few hotels where we did not want to leave and left a great impression Ther is free wifi by the way and a good restaurant!

The only thing we didn't like was the price of the tours which where pricy and also the laundry was quite expensive
